Parents can also find out more about parenting and family supports in the Comox Valley. These supports reflect the current need, interest, and cultural values of the families participating.

Rooted in holistic guidance, celebratory traditions, and self-care practices, we enrich and vitalize our cross-cultural parenting community. Enjoy tea and cookies in a relaxed and confidential space where you can reflect, share, laugh, cry and gain confidence. Feel free to drop-in anytime during the session - we understand the challenges of leaving the house with a baby!

In this 6 week program, we'll take a thoughtful look at our parenting journey, while exploring effective strategies to strengthen our relationships as parents.

Together we will dive into key topics like "what are the touchpoints?", uncover our own temperament, and gain valuable insights into our children's development. 

Through group discussions and hands on practice, we'll develop practical tools to support one another and grow more confident in our parenting skills.

Come check out this fun, friendly playgroup for early years families! The MFRC and Building Connections Project have partnered together to bring a fun, welcoming, and inclusive playgroup to the Lazo area! 

This drop-in program is FREE and welcomes all families with their children under 6 years old.

The Dove Creek Playgroup is a FREE, drop-in program for all children ages 0-6 with their families/caregivers. 
It provides connections for both you and your young child(ren)! These informal parent and tot mornings will offer plenty of fun, play-based activities, as well as special guest speakers from local community organizations.

Early Days Play is a playgroup exclusively for military families, for parents with their children 0-18 months old, facilitating peer support and connection. 

Drop-in, for military families only 

Take advantage of open gym times and drop into the Comox Community Centre to play a variety of sports. Equipment provided. 
Children under 10 years old must be supervised by a parent/caregiver.

There will always be tea, cookies, and great company! Facilitated group discussions and occasional guest speakers/visitors from relevant organizations within the community, but mostly just informal connection for parents with infants and toddlers.

Curious Crawlers (18 months and under) from 9-10am

Tiny Tumblers (4 years and under) from 10:30am-12pm

The facility is thoughtfully designed to provide a safe and engaging environment for kids to explore and learn!

Toddler Time is just for the littles - ages 0-4 along with a parent/caregiver.

This drop-in group is for parents with children from 0-5 years of age, along with a parent or caregiver. 
It is an opportunity for children to meet new friends in a fun and playful environment that encourages growth and learning. Activities may include crafts, games, play stations, songs and stories at the Black Creek Community Centre.

Presented by the Building Connections Project, this is FREE drop-in program for families with children 0-5 years old along with a caregiver. 

Drop into the open gym space and play off some energy, while creating community connections with other families. Each session will include a rotating schedule of crafts, snacks, activities, and fun special guests! Parent participation required (and encouraged!).

Drop-in $2.50 per child.

Enjoy songs, rhymes, stories, and gentle movement in a welcoming, parent-child setting. Designed for children under one year old, and siblings are welcome to join too! Support bonding, early language development, and social connection while learning simple tools to use at home from trained facilitators from Comox Valley Child Development Association. 

Best for babies 0-11 months old, alongside a caregiver.

Join this weekly session with a local doula and postpartum parenting specialist to support your journey through matrescence - from birth, and until you’re fully settled and thriving postpartum. Rooted in holistic guidance, celebratory traditions, and self-care practices, we enrich and vitalize our cross-cultural parenting community. Enjoy tea and cookies in a relaxed and confidential space where you can reflect, share, laugh, cry and gain confidence. Feel free to drop-in anytime during the session - we understand the challenges of leaving the house with a baby! 

This is a FREE drop-in program with facilitator Serena Oliviera.

In this 6 week program, we'll take a thoughtful look at our parenting journey, while exploring effective strategies to strengthen our relationships as parents.

Together we will dive into key topics like "what are the touchpoints?", uncover our own temperament, and gain valuable insights into our children's development. 

Through group discussions and hands on practice, we'll develop practical tools to support one another and grow more confident in our parenting skills.
